Description:Purpose of Job: Reduce employee lost time and workers’ compensation expenses, which arise from on-the- job injuries, by using medical knowledge, and an understanding of workers’ compensation laws and aggressive return to work practices. This includes evaluation of injury claims to confirm their validity and the placement of injured employees in jobs which meet their physical restrictions. Acts as liaison between Graco Inc. and outside service provider overseeing the day-to-day administration of Short Term Disability/Salary Continuation, Long term Disability and Family and Medical Leave Act programs. Responsible for the design and administration of Graco’s health and wellness program, working with Manager to ensure alignment and integration with other benefit programs and Graco’s culture. Job Results Areas: · Return To Work Program · Workers Compensation Administration · Short Term Disability/Salary Continuation and Family Medical Leave Administration Management, Employee and First Responder Training · Emergency and First Aid treatment · Extensive case management of occupational injuries/illnesses · Design and administration of the health and wellness program · Support Above Activities at all Graco locations Principal Activities/Duties: ·Perform triage (including emergency response care and referral) and provide first aid to injured employees as appropriate. ·Work with supervisors, cell leaders, Human Resource Representative, Manager, outside medical and legal providers, and Workers’ Compensation carrier to provide comprehensive medical management and coordinate return to work efforts on behalf of injured employees. ·Apply knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation Laws to appropriate situations to ensure compliance with all state and federal legislation. ·Coordinate return to work efforts by identifying jobs which meet unique physical limitations of injured employees using Job Task Analysis methodology. ·Identify opportunities to reduce injury occurrence providing information to Safety Specialist. ·Assist with tracking, analyzing and reporting Workers’ Compensation costs to manufacturing managers and other supervisors within Graco, as appropriate, to raise attention to injury costs and opportunities for injury cost control. ·Receive and process internal accident and injury reports; including record keeping and reporting. Coordinate claim administration process with third party administrator. ·Assist Safety Specialist with investigation of ergonomic complaints/issues. ·Assist Safety Specialist, employees, cell leaders in accident and near miss investigation and corrective action implementation. ·Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements (OSHA, Workers’ Compensation) and plant/facility requirements. ·Act as liaison between Graco and the outside service provider overseeing of Short Term Disability/Salary Continuation, Long Term Disability programs, including answering employee questions, directing employees appropriately, advising payroll of employee payment details and completion of the weekly disability report. Ensure administration and resolution are in compliance with company practice and all state and federal legislation. ·Assist Employee Relations and Legal Departments with medical aspects of employee relations issues. ·Provide injury response training to managers, employees, and first responders. Provide other occupational health training (Bloodborne Pathogen, including Hepatitis B Vaccine) follow- up to Graco employees. ·Coordinate First Aid/CPR training. Arrange respiratory physicals for selected Graco employees. ·Coordinate with vendor the annual audiometric testing of select Graco employees in Minnesota locations. ·Work with outside vendors regarding order/filling of first aid supplies, biohazard containment and handling, and linen upkeep. ·Other duties as assigned.
